‘NCIS’ Returns This Fall!

The long-running hit series NCIS is set to return this fall, much to the delight of its dedicated fanbase. Since its debut in 2003, the show has captivated audiences by following the Major Case Response Team (MCRT) from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as they investigate criminal cases involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of NCIS, and CBS has officially announced that the show will be back for its 22nd season on Monday, October 14, at 8 p.m. ET.

Here’s a look at the cast members who are confirmed to return:

  • Sean Murray as Special Agent Timothy McGee – RETURNING McGee, who started as a recurring character in Season 1, became a main cast member in Season 2 and has been a staple of the series ever since.
  • Wilmer Valderrama as Special Agent Nick Torres – RETURNING Torres joined the team in Season 14 and has remained a key character on the show.
  • Gary Cole as Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker – RETURNING Parker has been a part of the NCIS cast since Season 19, bringing a new dynamic to the team.
  • Brian Dietzen as Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jimmy Palmer – RETURNING Dr. Palmer began as a recurring character for the first five seasons, starred in Seasons 6 through 9, and became a main cast member in Season 10.
  • Diona Reasonover as Forensic Specialist Kasie Hines – RETURNING Hines started as a recurring character in Season 15 and was promoted to the main cast in Season 16.
  • Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance – RETURNING Vance appeared as a recurring character in Season 5 before becoming a main cast member in Season 6.

However, there is some uncertainty surrounding the return of one cast member:

  • Katrina Law as Special Agent Jessica Knight – POSSIBLY RETURNING Knight, who appeared as a guest star in Season 18 before becoming a main cast member in Season 19, might be facing a significant change. In the Season 21 finale, Knight accepted a position across the country at Camp Pendleton. When asked if this means she’ll be exiting the series, co-showrunner Steve D. Binder teased, “Well, you know, we’ve set something up there, and I will point you toward our track record where ‘You never know.’ We’ve had people look like they were going away and then it’s found out they weren’t going away, and then people who just disappear like Gibbs.”

The actress herself added to the mystery, saying, “Hmmm…. Better tune in for that season opener! [Laughs, heartily.]”

Fans will have to wait until the season premiere to find out Knight’s fate. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated NCIS: Origins, a new spinoff series, will premiere right after the season opener. Stay tuned to find out who will be part of the new cast!
