NCIS star Michael Weatherly has hinted at an exciting new spin-off and is seeking fans’ help with naming it. On Twitter/X, Weatherly shared a photo with Cote de Pablo, who played Ziva David, and teased the potential new series.
Weatherly, who left the show as Tony DiNozzo in Season 13 and recently returned for a special tribute episode to the late David McCallum, asked fans for their suggestions on what to call the spin-off. He wrote, “Getting ready to announce the Title of our new show… NCIS: Something … I’d love to hear what you think it might be.”
Fans jumped in with suggestions, including “NCIS: WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR 8 YEARS!”—which Weatherly agreed was a bit too long. It seems “NCIS: Beyond” might be a top contender, as Weatherly mentioned it was a favorite of his daughters.
Meanwhile, in the NCIS universe, the spin-off NCIS: Hawai’i has been canceled after three seasons. Star Vanessa Lachey expressed her shock and disappointment on Instagram, saying she felt “blindsided” by the decision and is still processing the news.
NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and Seasons 1-20 are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
