NCIS is set to return for Season 22 next month, and details are finally emerging—especially regarding Katrina Law’s character, Jessica Knight. After the Season 21 finale, “Reef Madness,” left her future on the show uncertain, fans have been eager for updates. Fortunately, recent cast photos have confirmed that Law is still very much part of the team.
Despite Knight accepting a position as NCIS REACT Chief Training Officer at Camp Pendleton, which initially raised doubts about her continued presence on the show, the new season’s cast photos and Entertainment Weekly’s Fall preview have put those concerns to rest. Season 22 will pick up six months after the finale, with Knight’s departure creating turmoil within the team. Showrunner Steve Binder hinted that the separation has left Parker (Gary Cole) feeling the absence, saying, “The team kind of separates, so picture Parker walking into the bullpen and the kids aren’t home.”
As Knight begins to question whether leaving Jimmy was the right decision, it seems likely that she could return to the team sooner rather than later. With Katrina Law prominently featured in the cast pictures, fans can breathe a sigh of relief—Jessica Knight isn’t going anywhere.
