NCIS: Hawai’i is releasing two new bonus specials as part of its upcoming home release. Despite the show’s cancellation earlier this year, all three seasons will be available in a DVD box set starting October 8.
The special features include “Ruah’s Rules: Directing NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i” and “NCIS: Hawai’i Season 3: The Third Wave” (via Us Weekly). The series, which aired from 2021 until May of this year, followed Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and her team in Hawai’i.
CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach recently opened up about the difficult decision to cancel the show, stating, “It was a really tough call… We look at all the numbers and make those tough decisions.”
After the show’s conclusion, Vanessa Lachey expressed her pride in playing Jane Tennant, saying, “As an AAPI woman, wife, mother, colleague, and friend, I am more proud than ever to have been your Jane Tennant on TV. This journey has taught me to continue pushing the envelope and breaking glass ceilings.”
NCIS: Hawai’i aired on CBS in the U.S., while NCIS continues to air on CBS, with seasons 1-20 streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
