When NCIS kicks off its 22nd season on October 14, fans are dying to know: Where’s Jessica Knight (Katrina Law)? After the Season 21 finale saw her accept a new job as chief REACT training officer on the West Coast, it’s unclear how she’ll reconnect with her DC team and Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen).
CBS has released intriguing photos and a logline for the premiere episode, “Empty Nest,” which hints at a dramatic plot twist: “NCIS searches for a missing undercover agent in the midst of an active hostage situation.” The photos show Knight in action, Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) on the field, and McGee (Sean Murray), Vance (Rocky Carroll), and Kasie (Diona Reasonover) deep in their forensic work.
It looks like this hostage crisis might just bring Knight back into the fold with her old team, and possibly even reignite her relationship with Palmer. But don’t expect everything to be resolved immediately—her reunion with Palmer might take a bit longer.
Season 22 will also address the mystery of “Lily,” a girl from Parker’s (Gary Cole) hallucination in the Season 21 finale. Will we get answers in the premiere, or will this mystery continue to unfold?
