I’m Now Convinced Knight & Palmer Will Get Back Together In NCIS Season 22

Even though Jessica Knight moved to Camp Pendleton in the NCIS season 21 finale, I’m convinced her breakup with Dr. Jimmy Palmer won’t be permanent. The finale revealed that Knight accepted her dream job at Camp Pendleton, meaning she’d leave her current team and boyfriend. Recent updates for NCIS season 22 confirmed that Knight and Palmer did, in fact, break up after her decision, but I still believe they’ll find their way back to each other. While Knight has left Washington, she’s still part of NCIS, which makes a reconciliation almost inevitable.

Knight & Palmer Are Still Navigating Their Breakup in NCIS Season 22

Despite the breakup, it’s clear Knight and Palmer’s relationship isn’t entirely over. The NCIS season 21 finale left viewers wondering whether they would break up following Knight’s move. In an interview with TV Insider, NCIS producer Steven Binder confirmed they did break up, but teased that season 22 will allow them to continue the conversation they didn’t get to finish in the finale. He also hinted there’s more to come, saying, “there’s a part three to that conversation.” This news gives hope that Knight and Palmer might still reunite.

Their relationship meant too much to both of them to not discuss Knight’s big career decision. It would be surprising and unfair if they didn’t address it together after she accepted the job with REACT at Camp Pendleton. Season 22 will explore how both characters are handling the aftermath of their breakup, with conversations that could either bring closure or pave the way for them to get back together.

It will be especially interesting to see how their discussions play out now that they’re both single. The dialogue will likely reveal how much they still care for one another. After being together for years, it won’t be easy for either of them to move on, but perhaps these conversations will show they don’t need to. Reconciliation could very well be in their future.
