NCIS: Origins has quickly become a fan favorite since its CBS and Paramount+ debut last month. The prequel series boasts an impressive 88% critic score and a 68% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With its 13-episode first season reaching its halfway point, the show is gearing up for its next installment, Episode 7, titled One Flew Over. The episode will air on Monday, November 25, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS and stream on Paramount+. The season is set to wrap on January 6, 2025.
The upcoming episode focuses on the NIS team’s investigation into the murder of a dementia-stricken Jane Doe. Flashbacks will offer fans a deeper look at the pivotal first meeting between Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks, adding emotional depth and new layers to the lore of the NCIS universe.
With six directors helming the first seven episodes, the show brings a variety of creative styles. Niels Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot) is the only director to helm multiple episodes, while other contributors include Peter Chatmon (You, Insecure), Lionel Coleman (NCIS: New Orleans), Hannelle M. Culpepper (Star Trek: Picard), Edward Ornelas (The Walking Dead: Dead City), and John Terlesky (Guardian).
The series was created by Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North, with a robust writer’s room featuring Stephen Day, Margarita Matthews, and others. Mark Harmon, reprising his role as Gibbs, serves as Executive Producer, ensuring his legacy continues to shape the franchise.
