NCIS Season 22, Episode 6: Is Jessica Knight Moving On From Jimmy Palmer?
The latest NCIS episode, “Knight and Day,” puts a spotlight on Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) as she faces a turning point in her personal life. Once part of a fan-favorite romance with Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), Knight now seems to be reconsidering their future—or lack of one.
Jessica and Jimmy’s relationship has been a rollercoaster. They were steady for a time, but things shifted when Knight accepted a job as REACT Chief Training Officer at Camp Pendleton. Even before her move, Jimmy ended things, seemingly trying to protect himself from being left behind. When Knight returned six months later, admitting her mistake, many fans hoped they’d rekindle their romance. But after an honest conversation, the two decided they still loved each other but weren’t what the other needed right now.
In “Knight and Day,” Knight starts to explore moving on, with her newest friend, April Day, encouraging her to open up to meaningful relationships. After a family event where Torres played her plus-one, Knight finds herself considering dating someone new—a potential rebound who may help her realize what she truly wants.
Jimmy, meanwhile, has been dipping his toes into the dating pool, using apps to meet new people. While Knight might try dating someone else for now, NCIS seems to be setting the stage for her to come to terms with what she’s truly looking for in a partner.
Although the Knight-Palmer relationship has hit a rough patch, it remains a cornerstone of the show and a fan-favorite pairing. Procedurals thrive on romantic tension, and this could just be another obstacle in their journey back to each other—à la Tony and Ziva.
Catch NCIS Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS, and stream episodes on Paramount Plus. Could Jessica’s rebound lead her back to Jimmy? Only time will tell.
