NCIS, the beloved CBS franchise, is gearing up to celebrate a monumental milestone that few television shows ever achieve. With its 1000th episode set to air on April 15, the series has firmly cemented its place in television history after more than two decades on the air and the creation of four successful spinoffs set in various locales.

Since its debut episode in September 2003, the original NCIS series has amassed over 450 episodes, while spinoffs set in Los Angeles and New Orleans have contributed 320 and 150 episodes, respectively. To mark this historic occasion, ET is set to air a special retrospective, “NCISVerse: The First 1000,” hosted by Kevin Frazier. This special will feature never-before-seen interviews and clips with stars such as Mark Harmon, Vanessa Lachey, Michael Weatherly, and Scott Bakula, offering fans a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

The NCIS franchise, known for its gripping storylines, stellar guest stars, and touching character moments, has captivated audiences worldwide. ET’s special will not only look back on the franchise’s past but also provide a glimpse into its future, with discussions about upcoming shows like NCIS: Origins and an untitled series starring fan-favorites Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly.

The return of de Pablo and Weatherly to the franchise was first reported in February, with Paramount and CBS unveiling the official description for the new series. The storyline will follow Tony and Ziva as they navigate life together after reuniting, facing challenges and dangers across Europe while trying to protect their daughter, Tali.

In anticipation of the milestone, ET spoke with newcomers to the franchise, such as Olivia Swann from NCIS: Sydney, who expressed gratitude for being part of such an iconic series. Similarly, Wilmer Valderrama, who joined NCIS in its 14th season, promised fans an exciting 21st season despite its shortened length due to the 2023 WGA strike.

With its enduring popularity and dedicated fan base, NCIS continues to evolve and entertain, showcasing the future of television content. Don’t miss ET’s special, “NCISVerse: The First 1000,” airing on Monday, April 8, at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the exclusive first look at the 100th episode of NCIS on Monday, April 15, at 9 p.m. ET.
