CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach hailed both “THE NEIGHBORHOOD” and “NCIS” as quintessential examples of the network’s prowess in comedy and drama. She praised their ability to deliver authentic storytelling infused with heart, humor, and compelling family dynamics, expressing pride in renewing them for another season.

These renewals join CBS’s already confirmed lineup of returning shows, including all three installments of the FBI series. Reisenbach lauded the dominance of the all-FBI Tuesday lineup, crediting Dick Wolf and the talented teams both on and off-screen for consistently delivering captivating storytelling and riveting action.

While the FBI series reigns supreme on Tuesdays, “THE NEIGHBORHOOD” and “NCIS” are Monday night staples. “THE NEIGHBORHOOD,” currently in its sixth season, continues to charm audiences with its portrayal of a Midwestern white family adapting to life in a predominantly black neighborhood in Pasadena, California. The show, created by Jim Reynolds, features a stellar cast led by Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, and Tichina Arnold, and boasts an average viewership of 7.9 million per episode.

Meanwhile, “NCIS” remains a juggernaut for CBS, pulling in an impressive average viewership of 12.9 million during its 21st season. The franchise has expanded with multiple spinoffs, including “NCIS: HAWAII” and “NCIS: SYDNEY,” with two more currently in development.

Among the upcoming additions to the NCIS universe is “NCIS: ORIGINS,” a prequel centered around Gibbs, and a series following the post-NCIS journey of Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David.

Recently, the franchise celebrated a monumental achievement with its 1,000th episode, underscoring its enduring popularity. Actor Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer, expressed his excitement for this milestone and the forthcoming season finale, emphasizing the camaraderie among the cast and crew that has been instrumental in the show’s success over the past 21 years.

Reflecting on the significance of the 1,000th episode, Dietzen stressed the collective effort of the countless individuals behind the scenes who have contributed to the show’s longevity and continued excellence.
