**Gibbs Poised to Reclaim Title as NCIS’s Most Featured Character**
The NCIS franchise continues to expand, and it’s about to bring Leroy Jethro Gibbs back to the screen. Gibbs, who left the original show in Season 19, will be the focus of the new spinoff, NCIS: Origins, which will explore his early days as an NCIS agent in 1991.
With this new series, Gibbs not only gets the honor of his own show but also stands to become the franchise’s most featured character. Previously, this title belonged to another major character, Leon Vance. Gibbs’ appearances in the original series, NCIS: New Orleans, and Jug, along with the upcoming NCIS: Origins, will make him a central figure in four NCIS shows.
Leon Vance, who has served as the NCIS Director, has appeared in the original NCIS series, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Hawai’i. Despite his primary role being based in Washington, D.C., Vance’s duties have taken him across various departments, justifying his appearances in multiple spinoffs.
However, Vance still has a chance to reclaim his record. He has yet to appear in NCIS: Sydney, which launched last year and was recently renewed for a second season. If Vance makes an appearance in the Australian department, he will once again be featured in five NCIS shows, securing his status as the franchise’s most featured character.
The ongoing rivalry between Gibbs and Vance adds an exciting layer to the NCIS universe, keeping fans eager to see who will ultimately hold the title of the franchise’s most indispensable character.
