CBS has announced that “NCIS: Origins” will join its fall schedule, airing on Mondays at 10 p.m., immediately following episodes of “NCIS” Season 22. This new series will take over the time slot previously held by “NCIS: Hawai’i.” Although the premiere date for “NCIS: Origins” has yet to be revealed, excitement is already building for its debut. Additionally, “NCIS: Sydney” Season 2 is scheduled to air on Fridays at 8 p.m. later in the season, following the series finale of “Blue Bloods.”
“NCIS: Origins” boasts a star-studded cast, promising to deliver an engaging genesis story of the beloved character Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Kyle Schmid will portray Franks, a role originally played by Muse Watson, and will join Lucas Stowell in depicting the younger Gibbs. Mark Harmon, who famously played Gibbs, will return as the narrator and executive producer of the series.
The ensemble cast also includes Mariel Molina as Special Agent Lala Dominguez, Tyla Abercrumbie as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Sullivan, and Diany Rodriguez as Special Agent Vera Strickland. Daniel Bellomy will play probationary agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, while Caleb Martin Foote takes on the role of Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf. Robert Taylor from “Longmire” will portray Jackson Gibbs, Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ father, a role previously held by Ralph Waite.
With this impressive lineup, “NCIS: Origins” is set to captivate viewers by exploring the backstory of one of television’s most cherished characters, adding depth and intrigue to the long-running franchise.
