CBS’s immensely popular NCIS franchise is preparing to broadcast its monumental 1,000th episode in a matter of weeks, featuring representations from both the Los Angeles and Pearl Harbor offices.
In an exclusive report from TVLine, it’s unveiled that Daniela Ruah, famed for her portrayal of Special Agent Kensi Blye-Deeks across NCIS: Los Angeles’ 14-season run, and Vanessa Lachey, currently leading as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant in NCIS: Hawai’i, will grace the milestone 1,000th episode. This special episode is set to air on Monday, April 15 as part of NCIS.
Although neither Kensi nor Jane will physically join the D.C.-based NCIS team, sources suggest their appearances will be thoroughly entertaining.
Teasing the franchise’s landmark episode, NCIS co-showrunner David North revealed, “One of our own beloved characters is going to end up in grave danger, and you’re going to see all of the different franchises brought into this in a little bit of a different way.”
Co-showrunner Steven D. Binder added, “There’ll be a personal storyline, and this one will circle around Director Vance,” portrayed by NCIS veteran Rocky Carroll.
Fans can anticipate numerous nods to the show’s history and hidden gems for long-time enthusiasts, with North emphasizing, “We’re going to play plenty of homage to the past,” and Binder adding, “If you’re watching it in 4K, you might have to blow some things up, but they’re going to be there.”
Ruah, who recently directed episodes for both NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i, expressed her willingness to reprise her role as Kensi if the opportunity arises, while Lachey’s character Tennant has previously made appearances in NCIS crossovers.
As the milestone episode approaches, excitement builds among fans for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the beloved NCIS franchise’s enduring legacy.
