Daniela Ruah, renowned for her portrayal of Kensi Blye on NCIS: Los Angeles, faced insecurities at the start of her acting journey over two decades ago. Despite initial fears of rejection, she scored her big break in 2009 when she joined NCIS: Los Angeles as Agent Kensi Blye. Prior to this, she mainly worked in Portuguese television, notably starring as Sara in the soap opera Jardins Proibidos for a year.

Reflecting on her Portuguese soap opera experiences during The Wayne Ayers Podcast, Ruah revealed the challenges she encountered. She highlighted the initial difficulties and the pressure she felt as a newcomer in the industry. Offering advice to aspiring actors, Ruah stressed the importance of being assertive while maintaining professionalism.

She emphasized the need for actors to prioritize their well-being and set boundaries, even in the face of industry demands. Ruah encouraged actors to decline requests that could harm their health or performance.

Acknowledging the industry’s demanding nature, Ruah suggested that individuals must discern their comfort levels and consider the long-term effects of their decisions.

Although NCIS: Los Angeles concluded its 14-season run earlier this year, Ruah remains active in her career. She recently showcased her versatility as Fatima in the Netflix Portuguese series Turn of the Tide, proving her talent beyond the NCIS universe.
