Spoiler: it’s not NCIS: Hawai’i.

NCIS: Hawai’i was recently canceled by CBS, leaving fans devastated with an unresolved cliffhanger. But it’s not the only NCIS spinoff causing sleepless nights for its viewers.

Before the abrupt end of NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Los Angeles was also axed by the network. Despite its longer run, ending after 14 seasons, its cancellation was equally disheartening for fans. Interestingly, both shows share a common gripe among viewers: the belief that another series in the franchise is to blame for their demise.

Months ago, a Reddit user sparked a heated discussion by criticizing NCIS: Sydney, the newest addition to the franchise launched in 2023. The user argued that the show fails to bring anything new to the table and described the lead characters as annoying, summing up their frustration with the title, “I can’t believe they canceled Los Angeles for this.”

The thread quickly gained traction, with many fans agreeing that budget cuts led to NCIS: Los Angeles’ cancellation, presumably redirecting funds to NCIS: Sydney. Some fans also blamed NCIS: Sydney for the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i, which has deeply upset its dedicated viewers.

Despite the backlash and average ratings, NCIS: Sydney has managed to secure a renewal for its second season, set to premiere on CBS this fall.
