“NCIS” Season 22 Faces Major Changes: Jessica Knight’s Exit and Team Turmoil
“NCIS” is gearing up for a dramatic Season 22 with major shakeups on the horizon. The biggest change is the departure of Jessica Knight (Katrina Law), who leaves the DC-based team for a new position across the country. Her exit creates significant upheaval, particularly for her ex, Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), who now faces personal and professional challenges.
Executive producer Steven D. Binder revealed that Knight’s departure will deeply impact Palmer. Although Knight is gone, her presence will linger, and Palmer will get a chance to continue their unfinished conversation in the new season. Binder teased, “They’ll have Part 3 of their conversation in Episode 4, with huge stakes that could blow up in unexpected ways.”
The team dynamics are shifting beyond Palmer. Timothy McGee is eyeing a deputy position, and answers about his future will come early in the season. Meanwhile, Wilmer Valderrama’s Nick Torres will grapple with the fallout from Knight’s departure. Engaged in dangerous undercover work, Torres faces trouble with “bad people” and is too immersed in his mission to deal with emotional fallout.
“NCIS” Season 22 premieres Monday, October 14 at 8/7c on CBS and will be available on Paramount+ the following day.
