Former NCIS star Mark Harmon looked unrecognizable during a rare public appearance in Los Angeles, ahead of his role in the upcoming *Freaky Friday* sequel.
The 72-year-old actor, beloved for his portrayal of Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS, appeared dramatically different as he ran errands in California. Spotted at Erewhon Market, Mark wore a casual red short-sleeved button-down shirt, baggy navy blue shorts, and flip flops. With his grey hair disheveled, he squinted through the sunny summer rays while carrying grocery bags.
Mark’s outing coincides with Disney’s announcement that he will star in the long-awaited *Freaky Friday* sequel. Set for release in 2025, the sequel will see Mark join original stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
In the 2003 original, Mark played Ryan Volvo, Tess’s (Curtis) fiancé and later husband. The film followed Anna (Lohan) who struggled with her mother’s impending remarriage after her father’s death. Eventually, Anna (in Tess’s body) accepts Ryan, realizing that moving on is best for her mother.
The upcoming sequel’s synopsis reads: “Freaky Friday 2 picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges of merging two families, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”
