Michael Weatherly, star of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, has been filming the highly anticipated series across Europe. But when he’s off set, the actor retreats to his beautiful rural Connecticut mansion with his wife, award-winning doctor Bojana Jankovic, and their two children.
In a recent Instagram post, Michael shared a glimpse of their rustic red-brick home, now adorned with Halloween pumpkins and cobwebs. Fans also got a peek at the family’s adorable silver-haired cat. The family moved to Connecticut in 2021, seeking a grounded lifestyle for their children, Olivia and Liam. “We actually live out in the country now, and the kids have trees, grass, and lots of wonderful things to experience,” Michael explained, adding that the rural setting offers opportunities for biking, sledding, and wildlife encounters, a stark contrast to life in LA.
Michael, 56, was raised in nearby Fairfield, Connecticut, and relocating to the East Coast allowed him to reconnect with his parents. Reflecting on his career, Michael admitted that the first 22 years were primarily focused on work, but the birth of his children and the move to Connecticut brought a shift in priorities. “I now put family before work,” he shared, calling it a “big change for the better.”
Previously married to The City co-star Amelia Heinle from 1995 to 1997, Michael has remained close to his eldest son, August, who turned 28 in January. After a “difficult time” following their split, Michael is determined to make sure his current marriage thrives. “When I got remarried, I wanted to do my very best to ensure that rupture wouldn’t happen again,” he said. Now, he focuses on balancing his family life with his career, making his children and marriage his proudest achievements. “I don’t bring my work home,” Michael added. “At work, I do my work, but at home, I’m devoted to my kids.”
