The 52-year-old actor, known for his roles in *The Eyes of Tammy* and *NCIS: Los Angeles*, was charged with seven felony counts of sexual assault on July 19. The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2013 and 2023.

On August 7, he was apprehended by investigators near Norway Lane and Norman Place, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department. Olds is accused of exploiting his Ivy League background and Hollywood fame to manipulate his victims into vulnerable situations.

The LAPD stated, “Each victim reported that Olds lured them into a false sense of security during their initial encounters, then turned violent without seeking their consent.” The investigation began when a 41-year-old woman filed a report on January 19, 2023, alleging that Olds raped her at her Los Angeles home. Following her report, two more victims came forward, recounting similar experiences of consensual dating that escalated to violent sexual assault.

Detectives have identified three women allegedly assaulted by Olds and two others who reported less severe incidents. LAPD Detective Brent Hopkins told KTLA, “We heard the same story repeatedly. Mr. Olds started off charming but then resorted to brutal violence.”

He added, “Some survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he’s off the streets, we want to ensure everyone has a chance to be heard.”

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to reach out to LAPD’s Operations West Bureau, Special Assault Section Detective Hopkins at 213-473-0417.

Olds boasts over 70 acting credits across film and television, dating back to the late 1980s. His work includes appearances in popular shows such as *Criminal Minds*, *Medium*, *Heroes*, and *The Mentalist*.
