“NCIS: Origins Casts Longmire Star Robert Taylor as Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ Father
Prepare for a journey back in time as NCIS: Origins unveils its latest casting coup. Longmire alum Robert Taylor is set to portray the pivotal role of Jackson Gibbs, father to the iconic Leroy Jethro Gibbs. This prequel series offers a glimpse into the early days of Gibbs’ career as a fledgling special agent at NCIS Camp Pendleton.
Joining Taylor are Daniel Bellomy and Caleb Martin Foote, who will play significant recurring roles in the series. Bellomy steps into the shoes of Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, while Foote takes on the endearing character of Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf. Together, they add depth and intrigue to the ensemble cast, which includes previously announced stars Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino, Kyle Schmid, and Diany Rodriguez.
NCIS: Origins is the brainchild of Mark Harmon, the original Gibbs, and his son Sean Harmon, who both serve as executive producers on the project. With Harmon returning to narrate the prequel, fans can expect an immersive experience delving into the untold story of Gibbs’ formative years.
As co-showrunners Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North express their excitement for this new chapter, NCIS aficionados can anticipate uncovering new layers to the beloved character they thought they knew so well.
While NCIS: Origins awaits its release date, fans can catch up on all the action of the original NCIS series, streaming Seasons 1-20 on Disney+ in the UK and airing on CBS in the US.”
