The NCIS franchise celebrates its 1,000th episode on Monday, April 15. The flagship NCIS marks episode No. 464 on CBS that night, while other series in the franchise include NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Sydney. Episode No. 1,000, titled “A Thousand Yards,” features NCIS under attack by a mysterious enemy from the past, while Vance, played by Rocky Carroll, explains to his estranged son why he sticks with the service despite the dangers.
Special appearances in the milestone episode include Daniela Ruah from NCIS: Los Angeles and Vanessa Lachey from NCIS: Hawai’i. CBS promises “Easter eggs” in the episode for superfans.
Entertainment Tonight commemorates the milestone with a special NCISVerse: The First 1,000 airing in primetime on Monday, April 8 on CBS and Paramount Plus, hosted by Kevin Frazier. The special includes a cake-cutting celebration on the NCIS set from February 20, when episode No. 1,000 was shot. The NCIS cast and NCIS: Los Angeles star Chris O’Donnell participate, with other NCIS shows’ cast members joining via Zoom.
NCIS is currently in its 21st season, NCIS: Hawai’i is in its third season, while NCIS: New Orleans concluded in 2021 after seven seasons and NCIS: Los Angeles ended after 14 seasons last year. NCIS: Sydney debuted last fall. CBS collaborates with designer Alexander John to mark the 1,000th episode with jackets and hats for cast, superfans, and sweepstakes winners.
Paramount’s Pluto TV plans an NCIS marathon on its More TV Drama channel on April 15, including a special block curated by cast members Brian Dietzen and Diona Reasonover.
