NCIS Season 22 Takes a Brief Pause but Returns Soon With New Episodes

The long-running hit drama NCIS is currently in its 22nd season, which premiered in October, marking over two decades of primetime success. While the show is taking a short break from new episodes, there’s plenty more in store for fans this year.

No New Episode on November 18

On Monday, November 18, CBS will air a rerun of NCIS from last season instead of a new installment. The episode, titled Heartless, focuses on the investigation into the death of a prominent heart surgeon.

Return Date for Season 22

New content resumes on Monday, November 25, when NCIS Season 22, Episode 6 (Knight and Day) airs at 9/8c. This episode is expected to highlight Agent Jessica Knight (played by Katrina Law) in a pivotal storyline. Though CBS has been tight-lipped about plot details, the return of fresh episodes promises an exciting Thanksgiving treat for fans.

What Else Is Happening in the NCIS Universe?

Alongside the main series, the newest spin-off, NCIS: Origins, continues to explore the early careers of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Mike Franks in 1991. The series stars Austin Stowell as a young Gibbs, a role originally made famous by Mark Harmon, who now serves as executive producer and narrator.

A new episode of NCIS: Origins—titled One Flew Over (Season 1, Episode 7)—will also air on November 25, immediately following the flagship series at 10/9c.

Season 22 Highlights So Far

This fall, NCIS has already delivered several dramatic storylines, including one involving Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) being passed over for a promotion. This development could have lasting implications for the character and the team dynamic moving forward.

With fresh episodes lined up through December, fans can look forward to an exciting close to 2023 in the NCIS universe. Tune in Monday nights on CBS to catch all the action!
