“Katrina Law Opens Up About Filming NCIS Season 21 Finale’s Grueling Underwater Scenes”
In a recent interview with TVLine, Katrina Law offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the intense filming of the NCIS Season 21 finale, which featured her character, Special Agent Jessica Knight, embarking on a daring underwater mission to save Alden Parker, portrayed by Gary Cole.
Law revealed the meticulous preparations undertaken for the underwater sequences, including the presence of a “contact technician” to ensure her vision remained intact amidst the challenges of filming underwater. Despite the inherent difficulties, Law found herself submerged in a “mini version” of a swim tank, alongside a tightly packed crew.
Contrary to the icy waters her character braved, Law disclosed that the temperature of the water was kept at a comfortable 85 degrees, akin to bathwater. However, the relief was short-lived as Law still had to navigate two more scenes aboard the cold, damp set, “soaking wet.”
Amidst the chilling conditions, Law highlighted the warmth and camaraderie on set, particularly singling out her co-star Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer. Dietzen went above and beyond to ensure Law’s comfort, allowing her to stand on his shoes between takes to shield her from the frigid floor.
Law’s insights offer a deeper appreciation for the dedication and teamwork that went into bringing the gripping season finale to life, demonstrating the close bond shared among the NCIS cast both on and off-screen.
