### NCIS: LA Star Daniela Ruah Directs Episodes in NCIS Universe After Spinoff’s End
Despite the conclusion of NCIS: LA after its 14-season run last May, star Daniela Ruah is maintaining her connection to the NCIS universe. The actress, known for her portrayal of Kensi Blye, is taking on the director’s chair for two upcoming episodes within the NCIS franchise.
Ruah will direct an episode of NCIS this month, set to air in March, followed by an episode of NCIS: Hawai’i in February, scheduled for April broadcast. Reflecting on her return to the NCIS set, Ruah expressed her gratitude, saying, “Kensi was born as a character on NCIS, 15 years ago, so now to be able to step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honor.”
This isn’t Ruah’s first foray into directing, as she made her directorial debut on NCIS: Los Angeles during its twelfth season.
NCIS: LA concluded its run on May 21, 2023, with Ruah’s character, Kensi, discovering that she and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) were expecting a baby. The finale also featured Callen (Chris O’Donnell) marrying his long-time love, Anna (Bar Paly), in an impromptu city hall wedding.
NCIS: LA holds the distinction of being tied as the fifth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series, following Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI, and Criminal Minds. With the latter two series having been revived, there’s optimism for the potential future of NCIS: Los Angeles.
