“NCIS: Los Angeles Star Daniela Ruah Welcomes Baby Girl, Sierra Esther, in Surprise Labor Day Arrival”
Labor Day took on a whole new meaning for NCIS: Los Angeles actress Daniela Ruah as her daughter, Sierra Esther, made an unexpected entrance into the world three weeks ahead of schedule.
Ruah shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting a heartwarming family photo and revealing the surprise arrival of baby Sierra on September 4th. “Apparently she thought Labor Day weekend meant LABOR day weekend… Look who showed up 3 weeks early!” Ruah wrote, expressing her joy at welcoming her second child with husband David Paul Olsen.
Sierra’s birth was anything but conventional, as Ruah explained she arrived breech. Despite the unexpected circumstances, Ruah found a skilled doctor in Los Angeles who supported her desire for a natural delivery. With the assistance of an OB and doula at Cedars Sinai, both mother and baby emerged healthy and happy, just 24 hours later.
Ruah’s sister-in-law, Sarah Wright Olsen, also celebrated the new addition to the family, expressing pride and gratitude for Ruah’s strength during the breech birth. Olsen, who is married to Ruah’s on-screen love interest Eric Christian Olsen, welcomed her own daughter, Esme Olivia, just four weeks prior.
Despite any on-screen drama, Ruah and Olsen share a close bond in real life, reinforcing the joyous occasion of Sierra’s arrival.
