NCIS star Michael Weatherly has just shared the first look at the set of the highly anticipated spin-off series, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The series reunites Weatherly and Cote de Pablo as their iconic characters, following Tony, Ziva, and their daughter Tali as they go on the run across Europe after Tony’s security firm is attacked.
With filming now underway, Weatherly took to Instagram to post a selfie from the set, captioning it: “Taking a breather in the heat during our exciting #ncis Tony & Ziva extravaganza!”
The spin-off was announced in February by Weatherly, de Pablo, and showrunner John McNamara. In a joint statement, the trio shared their excitement, saying, “We’ve been talking about this story for years, and now with John at the helm, we are ready. The world of Tony, Ziva, and Tali will be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears, and laughter.”
McNamara added that he’s thrilled to explore the NCIS universe from a fresh perspective and teased fans with, “If I told you the title of this series, I’d be violating the Espionage Act.”
NCIS continues to air on CBS in the US, with Seasons 1-20 available to stream on Disney+ in the UK.
