The upcoming NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Origins, is making waves with its significant casting additions, particularly the role of Gibbs’ father, Jackson. Set to delve into the formative years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Austin Stowell as a younger version, the show promises to be a riveting exploration. Adding to the excitement, Mark Harmon returns to narrate the series.
Joining Stowell in the ensemble cast are Mariel Molina, Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Kyle Schmid, who steps into the shoes of the younger version of Muse Watson’s character, Mike Franks, Gibbs’ partner.
In a recent update from Deadline, NCIS: Origins unveils three new actors joining the cast. Robert Taylor takes on the role of Gibbs’ father, previously portrayed by the late Ralph Waite. Additionally, Daniel Bellomy portrays ambitious probationary agent Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, while Caleb Martin Foote embodies Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolph, a new father of twins assigned to mentor Gibbs.
The newcomers bring a wealth of television experience to the NCIS: Origins cast. Bellomy is known for his role as Zeke Cross on Starz’s crime drama sequel spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost, with appearances in other procedural dramas like Blue Bloods, FBI: International, Suits, and The Good Fight. Foote, with prior crime drama experience in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and Magnum P.I., also previously appeared in a 2019 episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. Taylor, recognized for his lead role in Longmire, boasts a diverse television resume, including roles in Wolf Creek, Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, and Apples Never Fall, along with notable film appearances in The Meg, Kong: Skull Island, and The Matrix.
