As Mark Harmon bids farewell to Leroy Jethro Gibbs after nearly two decades, Bridge of Spies’ Austin Stowell steps into the iconic role for NCIS: Origins. Set in 1991, the series delves into Gibbs’ early days with the law enforcement agency, then known as NIS.

The cast of Origins is shaping up with two new additions: American Fiction’s Patrick Fischler and Prey’s Julian Black Antelope. Fischler portrays NCIS Special Agent in Charge Cliff Walker, leading the Camp Pendleton office and determined to earn his team the respect they deserve. Meanwhile, Antelope takes on the role of Chief Medical Examiner Kai Blackrock, whose complex ties to NIS force him to confront his own vulnerabilities.

While Kyle Schmid’s Mike Franks calls the shots, expect Stowell’s Gibbs to share the screen with Fischler’s Walker in tense exchanges and strategic discussions. As for Antelope’s Blackrock, his interactions with Gibbs will offer clues to their intertwined pasts, adding layers of intrigue to the narrative.

Joining the ensemble are Robert Taylor as Gibbs’ father Jackson, Daniel Bellomy as Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawso, and Martin Foote as Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf. Alongside Stowell and Schmid, Mariel Molino, Diany Rodriguez, and Tyla Abercrumbie round out the main cast.

Executive produced by Mark Harmon and his son Sean, NCIS: Origins promises a riveting journey into Gibbs’ formative years, guided by showrunners David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal. With Harmon lending his voice as narrator, fans can expect a thrilling exploration of the NCIS universe like never before.”
