How do you take the already stunning cast of NCIS: Origins and make them even more eye-catching? Just dress them up in formalwear and send them out on the town! That’s exactly the vibe the new promo for “Incognito” is serving up, but the real highlight is the focus on Special Agent Lala Dominguez.
Since the premiere of NCIS: Origins, fans have been eagerly waiting to see if and when Lala’s story would intertwine with Gibbs’s, as her character’s development has lagged behind the others. Now, halfway through Season 1, it seems the writers may finally be pulling Lala into the spotlight, hinting that this is “the story of her” too—echoing Mark Harmon’s original NCIS legacy.
From the very beginning, Lala has shown up in every episode: she’s smart, capable, and compassionate, even if Franks initially suspected she was cozying up to Gibbs. Yet, despite her intriguing presence, the series has yet to show how central Lala will be to Gibbs’s journey. With her build-up as a key character, viewers are hoping her role becomes more than just a supportive one.
Fortunately, Mariel Molino (of Promised Land) has been delivering as Lala, and her performance in “Incognito” is set to wow. In a glamorous gown with a daring leg slit and a gun in hand, she channels Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith with style and confidence. In the promo’s opening, Franks can be heard teasing her about being Gibbs’s “arm candy” for the evening—a dated comment, but one he clearly meant as a compliment. Franks may be blunt, but he’s not wrong—Lala is ready to steal the scene.
