Gibbs made a surprising return to the team on this week’s episode of NCIS, reuniting with his colleagues to hunt down a killer. Meanwhile, Gary Cole made his debut as an unexpected person of interest.

The team gathered at a barn-turned-headquarters by Jimmy, where Gibbs joined them to delve into a serial killer case. Vance arrived not to shut down the off-book investigation, but to offer Gibbs his gun and badge back. However, Gibbs declined, opting to continue playing dead until he could reconcile with the terms of his reinstatement.

Using GPS data from the latest victim’s watch, the team tracked down the killer’s whereabouts. Kasie’s discovery of a mysterious masked man in the background of surveillance footage led to a stakeout, during which Gibbs quietly reunited with Fornell. The masked man turned out to be FBI Special Agent Alden Parker, also investigating the same killer.

The team confronted the prime suspect, “Tommy,” leading to a confrontation at a columbarium. Despite Gibbs’ injuries, he managed to apprehend Tommy, who was revealed to be a contract killer. However, during interrogation, Tommy violently attacked Knight and escaped, holding Kasie hostage.

A tense standoff ensued, with Gibbs ultimately resolving the situation with a single shot. Meanwhile, Marcie bid Gibbs farewell, expressing her appreciation for their partnership. As the team processed the events, the introduction of Agent Parker added an intriguing new dynamic to the investigation.

What are your thoughts on Gibbs’ return, Marcie’s departure, and the introduction of Agent Parker?
