“NCIS” might no longer be TV’s most-watched show, but it remains a CBS staple, with a new season set to premiere this fall. Although Season 21 was shortened due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, it focused intensively on the characters’ flaws and relationships, providing unique entertainment.

Season 21 saw Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) confronting an old childhood enemy and the team solving a crime on a ranch, setting the stage for exciting developments in Season 22. But when will the new season debut, who will star in it, and what will it be about? Here’s what we know.

### When Will Season 22 of NCIS Be Released?

While CBS hasn’t released its primetime debut dates, we know “NCIS” will keep its 9 p.m. EST slot on Mondays for the fall 2024 schedule. The show will continue to be bookended by a sitcom and a drama, which has helped maintain its strong ratings for decades.

Following the conclusion of “Bob Hearts Abishola,” “Poppa’s House” will occupy the 8:30 p.m. slot leading into “NCIS.” Afterward, the new prequel series “NCIS: Origins,” featuring voiceover work from Mark Harmon, will take over the 10 p.m. slot previously held by “NCIS: Hawai’i.”

Expect more multi-night crossovers with “NCIS: Sydney” and potential guest appearances from characters of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “New Orleans,” or “Hawai’i,” as the show has done on special occasions.
