America’s beloved police procedural, NCIS, is set to return this fall with another thrilling season. Since its debut in the early 2000s, the show has captivated audiences, and Season 22 promises to be no different. Fans can mark their calendars for the premiere on Monday, October 14, from 8:00 to 9:00 PM ET/PT, before it settles into its regular slot on Monday, October 21, from 9:00 to 10:00 PM ET/PT.

Excitement is already building, as Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, revealed on social media that production is underway. On July 17, Dietzen shared an Instagram photo of his character’s iconic glasses, captioned, “These are going on my face now – Hello Jimmy Palmer. Welcome back everyone!” This confirms that Dietzen, along with main cast members Sean Murray (Timothy McGee), Wilmer Valderrama (Nick Torres), Katrina Law (Jessica Knight), Diona Reasonover (Kasie Hines), Rocky Carroll (Leon Vance), and Gary Cole (Alden Parker), will return for Season 22.

Season 21 left fans on the edge of their seats with a dramatic cliffhanger involving Jessica Knight, who faced a tough decision about a job offer that could separate her from the team and her boyfriend, Jimmy. The emotional fallout from this choice will surely be a focal point in the upcoming season.

NCIS has grown tremendously since its launch in 2003 as a spin-off of JAG. The franchise’s success has spawned multiple spin-offs, including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: New Orleans, and the internationally set NCIS: Sydney, which was recently renewed for a second season.

Looking ahead, fans can also anticipate two more spin-offs: NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Tony & Ziva. NCIS: Origins, premiering on October 21, will explore the early days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Austin Stowell) as a young agent at NIS Camp Pendleton. The series will also feature Kyle Schmid as a young Mike Franks and introduce a new cast, including Mariel Molino as Gibbs’ love interest, Special Agent Lala Dominguez. Meanwhile, NCIS: Tony & Ziva will see Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprising their iconic roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David.

NCIS was officially renewed for its 22nd season on April 9, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates as the premiere approaches!
