Jessica Knight is staying with the Major Case Response Team (MCRT). CBS has officially announced that Katrina Law will continue her role in NCIS for the upcoming Season 22, despite the previous season’s finale, which saw her character offered her dream job.
According to Collider, Law’s Jessica Knight appears in the newly released promotional images for NCIS Season 22, featuring profile shots of the returning main characters. This confirms her return and eases any concerns fans had about her potential departure from the team. The fake-out exit follows a familiar NCIS trend of teasing character departures, only to reverse them. Jessica Knight now joins the ranks of Ellie Bishop, Ziva David, and Kate Todd as agents who were hinted to leave MCRT but ultimately remained.
Where Have You Seen Katrina Law Outside of NCIS? Before joining NCIS in Season 18, Katrina Law was best known for her recurring role as Nyssa al Ghul in the Arrowverse, appearing in both Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. She also portrayed Quinn Liu in the reboots of Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I., both of which aired on CBS. In NCIS, Law’s character, Jessica Knight, is a REACT (Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Training Team) agent, known for her expertise in hostage negotiation and handling high-stakes situations. Knight is also romantically involved with the team’s medical examiner, Dr. Jimmy Palmer, played by Brian Dietzen.
Created by Donald P. Bellisario, NCIS premiered in 2003 as a backdoor pilot on the legal drama series JAG. The show, along with its spinoffs, follows special agents investigating military-related crimes. In addition to Law and Dietzen, the returning main cast for NCIS Season 22 includes Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, and Gary Cole as Alden Parker. Season 22 will be the third season without the original series lead, Mark Harmon, as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, although Harmon has expressed a willingness to return for guest appearances if the storyline calls for it.
NCIS Season 22 Will Feature a James Bond-esque Episode While most details about Season 22 are still under wraps, showrunner Steven D. Binder recently hinted at an intriguing episode involving a character reminiscent of James Bond or Jason Bourne. The episode will explore what happens when such a high-level espionage expert ends up in a retirement home, dealing with the same age-related challenges as others. Binder explained, “What do you do when you have those sorts of skills and knowledge, but you’re starting to lose your s–t?”
NCIS Season 22 is set to premiere on CBS on October 14.
