Eyes are on the return of our favorite shows, but this year’s September lineup is looking different for CBS fans. NCIS Season 22 won’t be premiering in September 2024.

CBS announced its fall premiere dates, revealing that most shows will debut in October instead of the usual September. NCIS Season 22 is set to kick off on Monday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. However, starting the following week, it will move to its regular 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. That same night, the prequel series NCIS: Origins will premiere with a two-hour special.

What to Expect in NCIS Season 22

Details about the upcoming season remain under wraps. One of the biggest questions is whether Katrina Law will return as Jessica Knight. At the end of Season 21, Knight accepted a job opportunity on the opposite coast, leaving her relationship with Palmer in jeopardy and her future with the team uncertain. There haven’t been any official casting updates since the finale, so her return remains a mystery, possibly revealed in the premiere.

We do know that Season 22 will dive deeper into Parker’s past. The mystery of the “Lily” girl from the end of Season 21 will finally unfold as Parker uncovers hidden memories.

The good news? NCIS Season 22 is expected to deliver a full 22-episode run, unlike the shortened 10-episode Season 21, which was impacted by the 2023 summer strikes. With no strikes in 2024, filming has stayed on track, promising a packed season ahead.
