Emily Wickersham Mourns Beloved Dog Miguel in Heartfelt Tribute
Former NCIS star Emily Wickersham shared a touching Instagram post over the weekend, grieving the loss of her cherished dog Miguel. The actress posted several photos and a moving message reflecting on the 16 years she shared with her “polarizing” yet lovable pet.
“For those of you who knew Miguel, I’m sure you’re all surprised he lasted this long,” Wickersham began, humorously acknowledging her dog’s unique “personality,” which she described as spirited and sometimes challenging. “I’m an underdog person,” she wrote. “I like the stray ones, the offbeat, you-don’t-know-what-you’re-going-to-get kind of dog… and person.”
Despite his quirks, Miguel had a special bond with those who loved him. “For the ones he was for and who loved him, he loved you back, and he loved hard,” Emily added. “He was little but mighty. It’s what I loved about him.”
Wickersham concluded her tribute with a heartfelt farewell: “I really really loved our ride together. Rest easy little man. I love you forever.”
Her former NCIS co-star Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer) offered his condolences in the comments, fondly recalling Miguel as “the brave guardian of [Emily’s] trailer.”
Emily Wickersham, best known for her role as NSA Analyst turned NCIS Special Agent Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop, left NCIS in Season 18. Reflecting on her departure, she shared on the Off-Duty: An NCIS Rewatch Podcast: “It was time, and I was ready to move on to something else… and I guess this was the something else I was meant to move on to.”
Miguel’s memory lives on as a testament to Wickersham’s love for life’s underdogs and her enduring compassion.
