Pauley Perrette Warns Fans About Scammers on Cameo
Pauley Perrette, beloved for her role as Abby Sciuto on the CBS drama NCIS from 2003 to 2018, took to Instagram on Tuesday to warn her fans about a recent scam involving her name on Cameo, a website where users pay for personalized video messages from celebrities.
In a heartfelt video filmed from her LA home, Pauley shared, “Last night I got a message on Cameo, which is the only place I talk to strangers. It was a terrible story about this person’s family member.” She expressed her frustration and concern, stating, “I don’t get why anyone wants to impersonate someone else, but what I do get is that this is dangerous. They’re asking people for money.”
Pauley has had to warn her fans about fake accounts multiple times. In April of last year, she also addressed similar issues. These scammers often pose as celebrities to exploit unsuspecting fans, asking for money under false pretenses.
Pauley’s message is clear: always verify the authenticity of the accounts you interact with and be cautious of anyone asking for money. She continues to use her platform to protect and inform her fans, ensuring they are aware of potential dangers online.
