NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama opened up about how the cast bonds on set, especially during intense storylines. In an interview with People ahead of the show’s 1,000th episode, Valderrama revealed that despite the dark cases, the cast always finds time for fun and laughter.
“We have a blast on set!” he shared, explaining that the darker the storyline, the more the cast relies on humor to keep things light. “We laugh our asses off. And it doesn’t hurt that the world comes along and enjoys it with us.”
Valderrama, who joined NCIS as Agent Nick Torres in 2016, expressed his pride in contributing to a show that continues to resonate with fans. Now in its 21st season, NCIS remains a staple of television, with recent renewals ensuring its legacy continues.
In season 21, Torres faced a tough start, being arrested for murder in the premiere after confronting a man who tormented his family. The season also paid tribute to David McCallum, who passed away in September 2023 at age 90, after playing Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard for over two decades.
NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
