Wilmer Valderrama, star of NCIS, has shared an exciting update about the show’s upcoming 22nd season. In a video posted on his Instagram, Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres, walked through the set’s trailer-filled car park, announcing that filming is underway.
“Alright, beautiful people,” he began. “We’re officially back on set of NCIS. Season 22 is a go. We’ve already started filming, and I’m here to catch you up—your boy Nick is back!”
In an earlier interview with People, Valderrama hinted that this season will be particularly memorable, saying, “The big conversation is how can we light some stuff on fire this season? It won’t just be the usual ‘your favorite team is in trouble.’ It’s going to be more personal, more soul-shattering, with some tragedy involved.”
But the season won’t be all serious, as Valderrama also hinted at potential romance for his character. “There might be some new flames. Perhaps Torres is ready for love this season,” he teased. “Who knows? That might or might not be a conversation.”
Additionally, he mentioned that Gary Cole, who joined NCIS in its 19th season, will have significant moments this season, adding, “He’s going to have some really heavy lifting this season, too. So that’ll be fun to see.”
NCIS airs on CBS in the US, and all 21 seasons are available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
