### NCIS: Sydney Renewed for Season 2 – Fans Rejoice!

It’s a g’day to be an NCIS: Sydney fan! The first international spinoff of the beloved NCIS franchise, set and filmed in Sydney, Australia, has been renewed for a second season on CBS, TVLine has learned. Production will kick off in the next few months, aligning with the Australian spring.

This exciting news comes two months after NCIS: Sydney aired its freshman finale in the U.S. and coincides with a Season 2 order from Paramount+ Australia. The renewal signals that the NCIS franchise is on the brink of being five series strong, with NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Origins (“Young Gibbs”), and the Tony/Ziva spinoff all in the mix.

Season 1 of NCIS: Sydney averaged 6.5 million viewers with Live+7 playback, tying with Survivor as CBS’s most-watched entertainment program of the unusual, strike-affected TV season. It also became the most-watched new show on any network last fall.

Season 2 is set to premiere during the 2024-25 TV season on CBS, with an exact date yet to be announced.

“We’re beyond thrilled with the response to the first season of NCIS: Sydney, both in Australia and globally,” said showrunner Morgan O’Neill. “We’re excited to dive deeper into our core team’s lives, exploring what makes them tick. Expect their bonds to be tested to the breaking point by a more potent enemy on the horizon.”

Streaming on Paramount+ and airing on Network 10 in Australia, NCIS: Sydney follows a diverse team of U.S. NCIS Agents and Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers as they tackle naval crimes in a highly contested oceanic region.

The team is led by NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, played by Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), and Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, played by Todd Lasance (Spartacus: War of the Damned). The cast also includes Sean Sagar (Fate: The Winx Saga) as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, Tuuli Narkle (Bad Behaviour) as AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper, Mavournee Hazel (Neighbours) as AFP Forensic Scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson, and William McInnes (Blue Heelers) as AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose.

The 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise will air on April 15, marking a significant milestone for the series.
