NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Starts Filming in Northern Territory!

Season 2 of the hit series NCIS: Sydney has kicked off filming in the Northern Territory, thanks to Screen Territory’s Production Attraction Incentive Program. This initiative draws major productions by offering incentives for projects that spend over $2 million locally.

Screen Territory director Jennie Hughes highlighted the region’s appeal, noting that its diverse locations, skilled crews, and strong government support make it an ideal filming location. “Hosting a globally recognized franchise like NCIS showcases the Northern Territory’s stunning landscapes and culture, while boosting local employment and the economy,” Hughes said.

Recent productions shot in the Northern Territory include Netflix’s Desert King, Amazon’s Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Stan’s Thou Shalt Not Steal, Amazon’s Top End Bub, and StudioCanal’s Kangaroo.

NCIS: Sydney, produced by Endemol Shine Australia for CBS Studios and Paramount ANZ, is the first international installment of the NCIS franchise. It premiered as the top new series of the 2023-24 Fall season in the US, drawing over 10.2 million viewers.

Season 2’s filming in the Northern Territory will include two episodes set in this picturesque region. Olivia Swann returns as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, and Todd Lasance as AFP Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, leading a dynamic team of US NCIS agents and Australian Federal Police.
