Get ready for a trip down memory lane with the upcoming NCIS spin-off, NCIS: Origins! The first teaser has dropped, giving fans a glimpse into the early days of former protagonist Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

Narrated with a tantalizing voiceover, the clip reflects on Gibbs’ departure from the show, teasing viewers with the promise of uncovering his origins: “We know how his story ended. Now see how it all began.”

Set during Gibbs’ tenure at Camp Pendleton, the series promises to delve into his past, with younger versions of familiar NCIS faces making appearances. Austin Stowell takes on the role of a young Gibbs, while Mariel Molino and Kyle Schmid step into the shoes of Lala Dominguez and Mike Franks respectively.

Diany Rodriguez portrays young Vera Strickland, originally played by Roma Maffia in ‘Under the Radar’. Tyla Abercrumbie joins the cast as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo, described as the “lifeblood” of the Camp Pendleton office.

Adding to the excitement, Longmire star Robert Taylor joins the cast as Jackson Gibbs, the no-nonsense father of Jethro.

For fans missing Mark Harmon since his departure, fret not! Harmon returns as narrator for the prequel, lending his iconic voice to guide viewers through Gibbs’ origin story.

While anticipation builds for NCIS: Origins, disappointment looms for NCIS: Hawai’i fans as CBS announces the cancellation of the show after three seasons. Led by Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant, the decision has left cast members blindsided and fans disheartened.

But fear not, NCIS: Origins is set to fill the void, with its release slated for this autumn. Catch NCIS on CBS in the US, and stream seasons 1-20 on Disney+ in the UK.
