Fans of NCIS‘ #KnightInShiningPalmer romance should savor the next few episodes of Season 21, as some “detours and bumps” are looming on the horizon for the sweet workplace relationship.
During NCIS‘ 1,000th episode celebration, TVLine caught up with stars Katrina Law and Brian Dietzen to discuss what’s ahead for their characters, Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer. In the March 25 episode, viewers will meet Jessica’s father, played by Russell Wong, who also portrayed Law’s dad in The Oath.
Law described the upcoming storyline as “very exciting,” revealing that her father is a significant figure in the NCIS world. His arrival in D.C. on a mission leads to a father-daughter team-up, and according to Law, “he kind of kicks ass a little!”
However, things aren’t as smooth when it comes to Dad meeting Jimmy. Dietzen shared that the introduction doesn’t go as planned, calling it “not exactly the best” for Jimmy. Even more challenging, Jessica’s father picks up on some tension between the couple, prompting Jessica to reveal some truths.
The episode promises to be both “heartwarming” and “nerve-wracking” for viewers, Law teased. As for whether Jess and Jimmy are in it for the long haul, that remains the big question. Dietzen warned of potential fractures in their relationship, noting that love sometimes takes “detours and bumps along the way.”
