The long-running CBS series NCIS has said goodbye to its final original cast members after an impressive 22-season run. As original stars have departed, the show’s writers have introduced fresh faces to keep the storyline alive, while also announcing a new spin-off to expand the NCIS universe.

Since its 2003 debut, this crime drama created by Don Bellisario and Don McGill has consistently achieved high ratings. Over the years, beloved characters have come and gone, but the show has managed to retain its fan base with each new addition. Following the passing of NCIS star David McCallum in 2023, his character Ducky Mallard was written out of the series, leaving Timothy McGee as the longest-serving cast member. However, McGee has taken a step back this season, appearing less frequently since the fourth episode of Season 22. Joe Spano, who has portrayed FBI agent Tobias Fornell since the pilot episode, remains a fan favorite but has made only limited appearances, with his future on the show uncertain.

Among the new developments in the NCIS franchise is the much-anticipated spin-off, NCIS: Tony and Ziva. Longtime fans will remember the dynamic duo of Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), whose chemistry and witty banter were iconic in the early seasons. After their characters left the main series and reunited off-screen in Paris, Weatherly and de Pablo are set to reprise their roles, bringing Tony and Ziva back to life in a brand-new NCIS series. This spin-off promises to revive the beloved pairing that fans have missed for years.
