Netflix is set to unleash suspense and excitement with the release of NCIS seasons 16 and 17. According to an update from Netflix Tudum on Thursday, May 30, after offering the first 15 seasons on the platform in the US, Netflix will add two more seasons on June 30.

In these new seasons of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), the team delves into a gripping mystery involving a government-backed vigilante justice group. Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Mark Harmon, makes a shocking confession about the deaths of his first wife and daughter, adding to the suspense.

Midway through Season 16, viewers are treated to a major twist: former Special Agent Ziva David, presumed dead after a mortar attack in Season 13, is revealed to be alive. Ziva had faked her death to protect her family from an assassin targeting her daughter, Tali. In the Season 16 finale, she unexpectedly appears in Gibbs’ basement, warning him of an imminent threat.

Season 17, though cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to explore the fallout from Ziva’s return. As she and Gibbs evade the assassin, they work to mend their strained relationship.

NCIS originally debuted in 2003 as a spin-off of JAG, created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill. The series has since become a beloved fixture of television, known for its thrilling plots and compelling characters.
