The tension between Pauley Perrette and Mark Harmon on the set of NCIS reportedly began in 2016 when Harmon’s dog allegedly bit a crew member. Despite concerns raised by both the cast and crew, Harmon continued to bring the dog on set. Perrette addressed the situation with Harmon, resulting in a strained relationship between them. Consequently, efforts were made to minimize their filming together, with scripts adjusted accordingly. Perrette ultimately departed from the show in 2018, amid speculation about the conflict, though she cited other reasons for her exit. Perrette’s cryptic tweets hinted at instances of bullying, but CBS stated that her departure was unrelated to the dog incident. Perrette retired from acting in 2020, while Harmon transitioned away from his role as a series regular on NCIS in 2021.

“I am not returning! Ever! (Please stop asking?) I am afraid of Harmon and the thought of him confronting me. It haunts my nightmares. I’ve found a new project that is supportive and uplifting! You’ll enjoy it! #HappyPlace Love you all!”
