Pauley Perrette is speaking out and taking a stand.
With just over a month until Election Day, the former NCIS star has voiced her strong support for Vice President Kamala Harris, sharing why she “can’t wait” for Harris to become president and reflecting on their long-standing friendship.
Though Perrette has stepped back from acting, she remains vocal about causes close to her heart, like LGBTQIA rights. Over the weekend, she took to Instagram to endorse the Democratic presidential nominee, revealing: “I have known Kamala Harris for a really long time, about 14 or 15 years.” She recalled how they first connected over a decade ago while fundraising for LGBTQIA rights, introduced by a mutual friend who knew they’d hit it off. “He was right,” Pauley said, praising Harris as “wonderful, smart, kind, considerate, and present.”
As a survivor of rape and sexual assault, Pauley shared how she was shaken by Donald Trump’s 2016 election win, recalling his history of sexual misconduct and the negative impact it had on her. “Please don’t do that to us again,” she urged, reflecting on how the outcome made her question America’s values toward women and marginalized groups.
Pauley also revealed that when Harris first ran for president in 2019, she texted her friend with both support and concern: “As my friend, I love you… but please run for president.” She concluded her post with a powerful message: “She is courageous and strong, and I can’t wait for her to be my president. I’ve been waiting a long time.”
Fans quickly flooded the comments with support, writing: “Thank you for speaking out,” “Love you, Pauley,” and “Amen, Pauley. We love you!”
