The NCIS: Hawai’i Stars Were Super Supportive As Jason Antoon Said Goodbye To Set, But I Really Loved The Response From Another CBS Star

Many shows are ending in 2024, including NCIS: Hawai’i, which CBS canceled after just three seasons. Despite fan campaigns to save the show, the network seems firm in its decision. As the cast bids farewell, a star from another CBS series is also showing support, which is heartwarming.

Jason Antoon, known for playing cyber specialist Ernie, took to Instagram after the finale to say goodbye to NCIS: Hawai’i. He shared a picture on set, telling fans that Ernie is “going back to his lair – you can find him there,” which touched many hearts. Fans and colleagues flooded the comments with their goodbyes, including Antoon’s on-screen boss, Vanessa Lachey. She reunited with the cast for a final sunset photo in Hawaii and wrote:

“I love you. And I will be down there in 15 mins with manapua and cougar juice!”

FBI agent Kate Whistler, played by Tori Anderson, also commented, expressing her sadness and support:

“Well, this is just sad. Meet ya there dude!”

Among the supportive voices was CBS star Carrie Preston, whose new show Elsbeth was renewed for a second season. Preston, known from The Good Wife spinoff, shared a simple but heartfelt emoji:

❤️

It’s touching to see CBS stars supporting those whose shows were canceled. Preston might not be the only CBS star to reach out to the NCIS: Hawai’i cast or other canceled shows like CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd, even if not publicly. Her brief message showed her care and perhaps hints at possible guest appearances on Elsbeth.

With CBS renewing much of its 2023-2024 lineup and introducing new shows, there was little room for bubble shows like NCIS: Hawai’i to continue. Although the cancellation hurts, Paramount+ subscribers can still watch the series and hope for its return as long as fan campaigns and support persist.
