In NCIS Season 22, things are heating up with major threats to the Major Crimes Response Team (MCRT) that not only impact the agents personally but could shake up the entire organization. Episode 6, titled “No Rest for the Wicked”, shifts focus from the usual inter-agency tension to a dangerous investigation involving a failed break-in at the home of defense contractor Freddy Martin. The team soon realizes the break-in was actually a kidnapping attempt targeting Freddy’s wife, Melinda, who has a mysterious past tied to the Kansas City Mob.
As Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) is assigned to protect Melinda, the team uncovers her real identity as April Day, the ex-girlfriend of a mobster’s son and the mother of a child tied to mob leader Carla Marino (Rebecca De Mornay). Parker (Gary Cole) is especially rattled by this connection, as he has a long, failed history with trying to capture Marino during his time at the FBI.
In a dramatic showdown, Parker and Knight set a trap for Marino, but when Marino’s henchman takes the fall, they’re forced to let her go. Despite this, Parker vows that if Marino dares to target Melinda again, it will be her last mistake. The episode leaves fans eager to see whether Parker’s unresolved vendetta with Carla Marino will finally come to a head. NCIS continues to air on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with episodes available on Paramount+ the following day.
