NCIS Stars Express Concerns Over Tony and Ziva Spinoff

The upcoming NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, has sparked mixed feelings among the cast. Despite excitement from Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo about reprising their iconic roles, some NCIS stars are worried about the potential impact of the new series on their own shows.

Filming for the spinoff, which started in Budapest earlier this summer, has raised concerns among the cast of the flagship NCIS series. An insider shared with Life & Style that the main show’s ratings have dipped recently, leading some cast members to fear that the new spinoff might overshadow their current roles.

Weatherly, known for playing Tony DiNozzo for 13 seasons, and de Pablo, who portrayed Ziva David from Season 3 to 11, are both returning for this highly anticipated project. Joining them is Isla Gie as their 12-year-old daughter, Tali, who is described as intuitive and determined.

In the spinoff, Tony and Ziva will be on the run across Europe after Tony’s security firm is attacked. The series promises a fresh, exotic setting and a new dynamic for the characters.

This new spinoff is the franchise’s second international installment, following NCIS: Sydney. While producers hope the change in setting will revitalize the franchise, there’s still concern among the network and cast about the potential overshadowing of the original series.

Though the spinoff will stream exclusively on Paramount+, leaving the original NCIS to continue on CBS, some former cast members are anxious about how this shift might affect their job security.
