NCIS Season 22: Major Changes and a Fresh Start for the Team

The NCIS team is shaking things up as Season 22 kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) has taken a new job with REACT at Camp Pendleton, leaving her distant from the team. Meanwhile, Tim McGee (Sean Murray) is in the running for a Deputy Director role, and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) is undercover, leaving Alden Parker (Gary Cole) to lead the charge in D.C.

According to Valderrama, this season will focus more on character-driven stories rather than the typical case-of-the-week, giving fans a deeper look into the team’s dynamics. “The show shines when our characters are at the center of the story,” he says, hinting at a season filled with new challenges and personal growth. Additionally, Torres will experience a brand-new romance, and fans can expect more humor to balance out the heavier moments.

Valderrama also teased that this season’s approach will inject positivity and lightheartedness into the show. “We want to bring some positivity to our fans and lighten things up, even as the cases take unexpected twists,” he explained.

Aside from NCIS, Valderrama is also working on his dream project—a Zorro remake, inspired by the classic series and comic books. Stay tuned as Valderrama juggles both his beloved NCIS role and his exciting new venture.
